On June 5th 2014 we are celebrating the World Anti Counterfeiting Day, through which, globally, we aim to raise awareness in the society to the importance of intellectual property in the context of knowledge protection and economic development, and alert to the consequences of unlawful practice related to counterfeiting and piracy. Among the damages of these infringements are included, inter alia, the financial damage to companies and the rise in unemployment as well as the risks to public health.
In this context, the Anti Counterfeiting Group draws attention to the two studies that were recently produced by the European Observatory on Infringements of Intellectual Property Rights which are available through the portal of the European Observatory on https://oami.europa.eu/ohimportal/pt/web/observatory/ip-studies:
